Samsung Launches 500Hz Odyssey OLED G6 Monitor in the US

In May 2025, Samsung debuted the world’s first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor in some regions. Dubbed the Odyssey OLED G6, the ultra-high refresh rate monitor is now available in the US as well. In addition, the company introduced the Odyssey G7 monitors in 37-inch and 40-inch sizes in the country.

The Odyssey OLED G6 comes in a 27-inch size, promising a new level of gaming experience. Powered by QD-OLED technology, the monitor features a 500Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time (GTG), and QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution. Its VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification ensures the display device is capable of delivering vivid colors and ultra-deep blacks.

Moreover, Samsung says the OLED G6 can meet people’s demand for peak performance during long gaming sessions. It features a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and glare-free technology. Samsung OLED Safeguard+ helps to prevent burn-in even during extended use. The monitor comes with support for NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

Now, talking about the Odyssey G7 lineup, the 37-inch model features a 1000R curved display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The monitor supports 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160) with 1ms response time (GTG). On the other hand, the 40-inch model features a 1000R ultra-wide 21:9 curved display, 180Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and WUHD resolution (5120 x 2160). Both are VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified, meaning you can expect exceptional clarity with deeper blacks and brighter whites.
