Galaxy Watch 5 Series One UI 8 Watch Beta Now In Works

Samsung has officially announced that the One UI 8 Watch beta will be available for the Galaxy Watch 5 series and later models. Currently, only the Galaxy Watch 7 has access to the beta program, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra has already received the stable One UI 8 Watch update.
Samsung is now internally testing One UI 8 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch 5 series
After the Galaxy Watch 6 started its development, the Galaxy Watch 5 is now moving into the testing phase. According to Aptivi, Samsung has begun working on the One UI 8 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch 5 series. This means the beta program for the watches released in 2022 is getting closer to being ready for users.
People who like trying new updates will soon be able to test One UI 8 on their Galaxy Watch 5 devices, specifically those with an LTE variant and an active T-Mobile plan. The beta build versions for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro are:
- Galaxy Watch 5 Pro: R920XXU1ZYH1
- Galaxy Watch 5 40mm: R910XXU1ZYH1
- Galaxy Watch 5 44mm: R920XXU1ZYH1
Aptivi says that when the stable update releases, the build version will end with DY**. The One UI 8 Watch update will bring a ton of new features to the old smartwatches. One exciting addition is support for the Facer app, which users have been waiting for.
While testing the Galaxy Watch 8 series, we tried out several new features. However, not all of these features will be available on the Galaxy Watch 5 series. That’s something Samsung had mentioned in fine print.
This update will be the third major software upgrade for the Galaxy Watch 5 series. These watches can get up to four big updates in total. That means the Galaxy Watch 5 will also get the One UI Watch 9 update next year. Meanwhile, Samsung today also started rolling out the second One UI 8 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch 7.
