Samsung sold 3 million Galaxy S25 phones in South Korea two months earlier than the Galaxy S24. But this trend is not just limited to its home country — the latest flagship’s global sales figures are also promising, showing an 8.6% increase year-over-year (YoY) compared to the predecessor. Thanks to Samsung’s innovations in the AI segment, the premium lineup has attracted consumers around the world.

Samsung saw strong demand for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, followed by the Base and Plus models

Noted tipster @UniverseIce recently shared sales data for the Galaxy S25 and S24 series through the end of June. The Galaxy S25 series (excluding the Edge model) sold 19.57 million units while the Galaxy S24 series sold 18.02 million during the same period last year.

Unsurprisingly, Galaxy S25 Ultra remains the top-selling variant with 9.64 million units sold. Samsung sold 9 million units of the Galaxy S24 Ultra during the same period last year. This suggests the new Ultra model is performing well, a 7.1% increase in sales YoY.

Speaking of the standard Galaxy S25, the phone saw the highest growth rate among the lineup, with an 11.6% increase. It sold 6.07 million units, up from 5.44 million units of the Galaxy S24 in the same period last year. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Plus’s sales number was 3.85 million units, a 7.5% increase over the Galaxy S24 Plus (sold 3.85 million units).

While the Plus model saw YoY growth, it remains the least-selling variant in the lineup. More importantly, its gap between the Ultra and the Basic model is huge, suggesting that users are leaning towards the entry-level flagship or the most premium offering. Perhaps, this is the reason Samsung is reportedly considering ditching its Plus model from the upcoming 2026 flagship lineup.

Released in May 2025, the Galaxy S25 Edge has impressed customers thanks to its ultra-slim and lighter design. It sold 650,000 units globally by the end of June. This strengthened the overall performance of the Galaxy S25 series (Base, Plus, Ultra, Edge), reaching global sales of 20.22 million units by the end of June.
