Samsung has begun rolling out the August 2025 security patch to Galaxy S25 users on One UI 7. The update is currently available in Korea but should soon expand to other markets. Users who participated in the Android 16-based One UI 8 beta program recently received Beta 4 with the July patch.

Galaxy S25’s August 2025 security update goes live

Samsung is currently running One UI 8 beta programs for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in India, Korea, Germany, Poland, the UK, and the US. The company recently announced plans to roll out the stable version in September. Ahead of that, users in other markets, as well as those who didn’t participate in the beta program in the aforementioned six countries, will get regular security patches.

The latest release is now available for the flagship trio in Korea. The August 2025 update for the Korean Galaxy S25 units carries the firmware version AYG6. Screenshots shared by users show that the OTA (over the air) package weighs nearly 550MB for the Ultra model. The build version and OTA size may vary depending on the model and region, but the content of the update should remain unchanged globally.

The August SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy family addresses 47 vulnerabilities, including one critical Android OS flaw and several Galaxy-specific issues. Samsung will gradually roll out these security fixes to more Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update is already available for the Galaxy A56 in some regions, with more to follow in the coming days.

To install the latest updates on your Galaxy, go to the Settings app, scroll down to the Software update menu, and tap Download and install. If an update is available, you’ll be prompted to download it. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process. Your phone will require a restart to install new software updates.
