Samsung’s Next Galaxy Chromebook Plus Shows Up Early in Live Image

It seems that Samsung is gearing up to launch the next Galaxy Chromebook Plus, which has just moved one step closer to release. The device was recently spotted in both the Safety Korea and FCC certification databases. These listings reveal key details about the upcoming model and provide an early glimpse of what to expect.

As spotted by The Tech Outlook, the new Galaxy Chromebook Plus has appeared under the model number XQ550XGA, with a variant labeled XQ551XGA. This device might succeed the earlier XE550XGA model, which means Samsung is preparing a Galaxy Chromebook Plus refresh. You can check out the live image of the upcoming Galaxy Chromebook Plus, and as expected, there does not appear to be any major design overhaul.

According to the Safety Korea certification, which includes the live image, the new Chromebook will not feature a 360-degree hinge. This confirms that it will not be a convertible model, despite the “Q” in the model number, which typically suggests a 2-in-1 design. Instead, the image shows a traditional clamshell laptop.

The FCC listing provides further details, identifying the Chromebook as a notebook PC. It also confirms support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth support includes classic BDR, EDR, and Low Energy modes, ensuring broad compatibility with a wide range of accessories and wireless devices.

Beyond that, the rest is still under wraps. We don’t yet know what kind of processor it’s packing, how much RAM or storage it’ll offer, or what to expect from the display and battery life. But considering it’s part of the Galaxy Chromebook Plus lineup, it’s safe to assume Samsung is aiming for that sweet spot between solid performance and premium design. The current variant comes at $699.99, and we’re not expecting big changes.
