Samsung’s One UI 8 journey is entering a crucial phase. Following the Open Beta Program launch in late May, the company has rolled out three beta builds for the Galaxy S25 series. Now, signs of a fourth beta update (Beta 4) have started surfacing, suggesting that the finish line for the stable One UI 8 release is approaching.

One UI 8 Beta 4 may arrive soon, clearing the path for a stable release

Firmware watchers recently uncovered a new One UI 8 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series with the build version ZYG5, an upgrade from the current public beta build (ZYFA). While this doesn’t necessarily mean that Samsung will roll out a new beta update soon, the company is making some movements. It could delay the release of the ZYG5 build or even cancel it altogether, but these developments mean something is on the way.

Over the next few days or weeks, we could see Samsung roll out One UI 8 Beta 4 to the Galaxy S25 lineup or push the stable version. The company is internally testing stable builds for several Galaxy devices, having debuted the Android 16-based update with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE at Unpacked last week.

If you recall, Samsung last released One UI 8 Beta 3 on June 30, focusing on polishing features and addressing critical bugs. If the next release is also a beta build, users can expect final performance optimizations and refinements before the stable version rolls out. Things should get clearer soon.

Despite growing anticipation, Samsung has yet to expand the program to older models like the Galaxy S24, S23, or its foldable lineup. That may change after the stable rollout begins, but for now, early access remains tightly controlled. Or maybe the Korean firm doesn’t plan beta releases for other devices; we’ll have to wait and see.
