Windows 11’s Adaptive Mode Boosts Galaxy Book Power Efficiency

If you want to improve the battery performance of your Galaxy Book, Microsoft now offers a new solution. The company has introduced a new feature called Adaptive within the Energy saver settings in Windows 11. This feature adjusts your laptop’s power consumption based on your usage activities.
Adaptive energy saver in Windows 11 aims to improve battery life
A few days ago, Microsoft released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27898 to the Canary Channel. While it brings several notable improvements to the operating system, one feature that caught attention is the new Adaptive Battery Saver Mode. The company confirmed that it has begun previewing the new mode, letting insiders try out the experience in the Canary channel.
In its blog post, Microsoft wrote, “Adaptive energy saver is an opt-in feature that automatically enables and disables energy saver, without changing screen brightness, based on the power state of the device and the current system load.” It further says that this feature will only be available on devices with a battery, meaning desktop PCs will not support it. You will see the feature in laptops, tablets, and handheld devices running Windows 11.

It is worth noting that Microsoft has already implemented the Energy saver feature in Windows 11. However, it only turns on automatically when your battery drops to around 20% or 30%. As a result, you notice reduced screen brightness and limited system performance. Of course, this helps extend the battery life of the device when power is running low.
Now, with the addition of the Adaptive option within the Energy saver settings in Windows 11, Microsoft is taking battery optimization a step further. Adaptive mode intelligently turns Energy saver on or off, without affecting background tasks or screen brightness. More importantly, it doesn’t wait for your battery level to reach a certain percentage — it works based on your device’s workload.
Once the new Adaptive feature reaches your Galaxy Book, don’t forget to turn it on, as it is an opt-in feature. You can access it via Settings > System > Power & battery. Hopefully, this will improve your Galaxy Book’s battery performance.
