Samsung’s latest foldables ship in about a week and run Android 16-based One UI 8. Samsung has also started testing the One UI 8 build on more devices, with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 now included.

As spotted by updates tracker Akhilesh Kumar on X, Samsung is now preparing the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 for the One UI 8 update. The build numbers are F936BXXUAIYG3 for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and F721BXXUAIG3 for the Flip 4 (via Tarun Vats).

Both foldables are eligible for four major updates, and the Android 16-based One UI 8 will be their final one. After that, they’ll continue receiving security updates through 2027.

Samsung is now testing the One UI 8 build for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, which suggests there won’t be any delays. In fact, One UI 8 is ahead of schedule, and that’s a good sign. That said, don’t expect the update to roll out immediately. It’s still a few weeks away. But if these early signs mean anything, it’s clear Samsung is ramping things up.

One UI 8 will make both devices more useful. One standout feature on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be the new 90:10 split screen, which will finally let the book-style foldable live up to its potential. Beyond that, more features are on the way, including popular bug fixes like Toast History.

If you’re eager to get One UI 8 without going through beta, the fastest way is to pre-order the newly launched devices. Both are solid upgrades over the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, which launched over four years ago. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, in particular, is a major leap.

Right now, you can claim a free mystery order with pre-orders which packs a bunch of cool accessories. You also get a storage upgrade and $50 credit. These offers end once the devices hit retail shelves.
