Samsung Discusses Ambient Intelligence as the Future of AI

With the launch of next-generation Galaxy Z devices and smartwatches, Samsung has set a bold new direction for artificial intelligence. The company recently hosted a panel discussion titled “The Next Vision of AI: Ambient Intelligence” at the Galaxy Tech Forum in Brooklyn. The panel discussed how AI is shaping the future of mobile innovation.
Samsung’s vision of seamless Ambient Intelligence
Since Galaxy AI’s debut on the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has been putting a lot of effort into bringing AI features to both new and existing devices. After all, this move helped the company to get solid responses from consumers worldwide. The company expects Galaxy AI to reach 400 million devices by the end of 2025.
Samsung sees the future of AI centers around ambient intelligence — AI that is seamlessly integrated into daily life. According to a London-based research firm, Symmetry, 60% of users prefer to use their phones without prompts based on daily habits, which is a key focus of ambient intelligence.

In the panel, experts looked at how multimodal capabilities are playing a role in the evolution of AI in everyday life. Jisun Park, Corporate Executive Vice President and Head of Language AI Team, MX Business at Samsung, noted that the company has seen a rapid increase in AI adoption since the launch of the Galaxy S25 earlier this year. Pak said more than 70% of users have engaged with Galaxy AI features.
“Some see AI as the start of a ‘post-smartphone’ era, but we see it differently,” said Park. “We’re building a future where your devices don’t just respond — they become smarter to anticipate, see and work quietly in the background to make life feel a little more effortless.”
Mindy Brooks, Vice President of Android Consumer Product and Experience at Google, said that Gemini’s integration with Samsung devices enables it to work seamlessly with first-party apps for personalized responses. Dr. Vinesh Sukumar, Vice President of Product Management at Qualcomm, said that their collaboration with Samsung prioritizes secure, on-device intelligence so that users know where their data is and who controls it.
