Samsung Preparing One UI 8 Update for the Galaxy S23 FE

Samsung has finally taken the wraps off the Android 16-based One UI 8. It will debut on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. At this point, Samsung is ramping up testing across multiple devices to make sure the rollout doesn’t hit any delays. And now, the Galaxy S23 FE has been spotted running One UI 8 internally.

As spotted by Akhilesh Kumar on X, Samsung is preparing the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S23 FE. More specifically, the company is testing an internal build of One UI 8 for the S23 FE in Europe. The build number spotted is S711BXXU9FYG2, which clearly indicates that development is already in motion behind the scenes.

One UI 8, based on Android 16, is expected to bring a bunch of improvements to Galaxy devices. Some of the most anticipated features include a new 90:10 split-screen option for enhanced multitasking, a redesigned LockScreen clock with more customization, and upgraded security features aimed at giving users tighter control over their data and privacy.

Right now, Samsung is focusing on getting One UI 8 ready for its upcoming foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and the Z Flip 7 FE. Which will be the first to launch with the new software out of the box. Once those devices hit market shelves, a broader rollout is expected to follow.

Galaxy S25 series will be the first in line to receive the stable One UI 8 update. After that, Samsung will turn its attention to recent flagships like the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and the Galaxy S24 lineup. Once those are out of the way, the One UI 8 update should gradually roll out to more devices in the backlog, including the Galaxy S23 FE.
