Galaxy S25 FE May Feature Flagship-Grade Flexible OLED Display

Samsung is developing the fifth model in its latest Galaxy S lineup, the Galaxy S25 FE. We already know quite a bit about what the company has in store, thanks to early leaks. A new report has now shed light on the display technology, revealing that the upcoming Fan Edition model will feature a flexible OLED panel — an impressive upgrade from the rigid OLED found in previous generations. This could result in a thinner and lighter build, which aligns with Samsung’s ambitions.
Galaxy S25 FE may feature a 6.7-inch flexible OLED panel
Samsung’s FE (Fan Edition) models are well-received by fans for offering near-flagship features at affordable prices. These semi-flagship devices give you a good balance of performance, camera capabilities, battery life, and features. With the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE, the Korean firm is reportedly considering a flagship-grade display to make it more appealing in terms of design.
According to a report from ZDNet Korea, the next-generation Fan Edition model will adopt a flexible OLED panel, replacing the existing rigid OLED technology. Samsung usually reserves this cutting-edge display for its premium flagship devices. This move will allow the company to differentiate its Fan Edition lineup more from lower-end Galaxy A models. As for the display size, there are no changes — the Galaxy S25 FE may still offer the same 6.7-inch panel as the S24 FE.
For the uninitiated, OLED panels have mainly two types: rigid and flexible. Rigid OLEDs use a solid substrate, while flexible OLEDs can bend. The implementation of flexible OLEDs in smartphones allows the company to make slimmer devices as well as provide design flexibility, though they are pretty expensive. Hopefully, this upgrade won’t make the S25 FE costlier.
The publication further says that Samsung Display will begin mass production of the flexible OLED panels for the Galaxy S25 FE this month. This suggests that Samsung is nearing the release of its much-anticipated semi-flagship smartphone. Based on past patterns, the launch may happen either in late Q3 or early Q4 of 2025. We will let you know as new information becomes available in the coming weeks.
