Galaxy S23 series gets the June 2025 update in the US
A few days ago, Samsung released the June SMR for the Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE in select international markets. The company has since been expanding the availability of this update to more regions, recently rolling it out in the US. As of this writing, factory-unlocked variants are picking up this month’s security patch stateside. The flagship trio’s update carries the firmware build number S911U1UES6DYF3, while it’s S711U1UES6DYF2 for the FE model.
Besides the US Galaxy S23 models, Samsung has rolled out the June update for the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro. These mid-range devices are picking up the new SMR in various global markets. The new firmware build number for the A series handset is A536BXXSFFYEA or A536EXXSFFYEA, depending on the region. That for the rugged model is G736BOXSAFYF1.
The June 2025 update for the Galaxy S23 and the mid-range duo doesn’t contain anything more than the latest security fixes. This month’s SMR brings over 60 vulnerability patches, combining fixes for Android OS flaws, One UI security issues, and Exynos vulnerabilities.
While the Galaxy A52 is done getting feature updates — it didn’t receive One UI 7 — all other models are eligible for One UI 8. Samsung may start rolling out its Android 16 update in August, with the Galaxy S25 series leading the line. All eligible devices should receive the update before the end of the year. We will let you know when the rollout begins.
