Samsung is gearing up for a major Galaxy Watch upgrade with the upcoming One UI 8 Watch, based on Wear OS 6. The company has already announced a beta program for the Watch 5 and newer models, though we still do not have exact release dates. Meanwhile, Samsung has now launched a dedicated beta forum on its official US community, signaling that the beta program is about to begin.

Samsung launches One UI 8 Watch beta pages on its community forums

The One UI 8 Watch beta page went live shortly after the Korean firm announced the beta program. X user Theordysm spotted the page on Samsung’s US community forum. This indicates a nearing release of the first beta update. Alongside the US, the beta program will be available for eligible Galaxy Watch models in South Korea. It’s unclear if Samsung plans to launch beta programs in more markets later.

One UI 8 Watch focuses heavily on health and fitness enhancements, offering deeper insights and smarter tracking tools. Key features announced include:

  • Bedtime Guidance – Offers personalized sleep optimization tips
  • Vascular Load – Measures the strain on your vascular system during sleep to assess cardiovascular stress
  • Running Coach – Provides dynamic training strategies based on your performance and goals
  • Antioxidant Index – Tracks carotenoid levels in your body to support healthy aging

As far as the supported devices are concerned, the Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro, Watch 6, Watch 6 Classic, Watch 7, and Watch Ultra are confirmed to get One UI 8 Watch beta. The Galaxy Watch 4 misses out, raising concerns that it may not receive the Wear OS 6-based update. It’s unclear if Samsung will roll out beta updates for the Galaxy Watch FE, which is largely a rebadged Watch 4. It will surely get the stable version, though.

Speaking of the stable version, Samsung will introduce One UI 8 Watch with the Galaxy Watch 8 series. The new models, which include a base Watch 8, a Watch 8 Classic, and a Watch Ultra (2025), should go official at the upcoming Unpacked. The event could take place on July 9 in New York City. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE will be the stars of the show.
