Galaxy A56 Is On Its Way to the US as Firmware Hits Testing Phase

It’s been a while since Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy A56, but so far, it’s still not officially available in the US. Some people even managed to get their hands on imported units, but those units aren’t specifically made for the American market. Now, it seems Samsung is inching closer to launching the Galaxy A56 in the US. There’s no clear release date yet, but signs point to progress on the horizon.
Galaxy A56 release in the US markets doesn’t look too far off
Samsung has reportedly started working on firmware for the US model of the Galaxy A56, identified by the model number SM-A566U1. The last two characters confirm the region, putting to rest any doubts that the Galaxy A56 is on track for a US release this year. Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed the Galaxy A56 would retail in the US for around $499 and be available “later this year.” Now that we’re halfway through 2025, the launch feels closer than ever.

While the exact release date remains under wraps, ongoing firmware testing is a strong sign the phone will hit the US market soon. The Galaxy A56 is already popular in other countries, thanks to solid performance, fast charging, and an affordable price tag.
Spec-wise, it features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with up to 1200 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. Under the hood, it packs an Exynos 1580 chip, paired with up to 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. Speaking of battery, there’s a 5,000mAh, which supports 45W wired charging.
On the camera front, there’s a triple setup: 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro, plus a 12MP front-facing shooter. It runs One UI 7 and is eligible for six major software updates.
