Two Months Later, One UI 7 Finally Lands in this Country

After a long wait, Samsung has officially released the Android 15-based One UI 7 update in Japan. The update is now live for the Galaxy S24 series, with other models expected to get it in the coming days. While the company did not specify the reasons for the delay, the update’s arrival is a welcome relief for Galaxy users in the region.
Galaxy users in Japan finally get the taste of One UI 7
Samsung began rolling out One UI 7 to global Galaxy S24 users in early April. In the weeks since, the update has made its way to dozens of smartphones and tablets across different segments. Yet, users in Japan were notably left out, with no explanation from the company.
The Korean behemoth has finally ended the wait for One UI 7 for Japanese Galaxy users. Two months after the initial global rollout, the big Android 15 update is now available for the Galaxy S24 lineup in the region. The update comes with the firmware build version ending in BYE3 and includes the May 2025 security patch.
Packed with system-wide enhancements, UI refinements, and new features, One UI 7 brings a smoother and more personalized user experience. From improved app animations and a cleaner interface to added privacy features and performance boosts, the update is a substantial step forward for Galaxy devices. Unsurprisingly, the update package is huge too, weighing several gigabytes.
If you own a Galaxy S24 series phone in Japan and haven’t received the update notification yet, you can manually check for One UI 7. Open Settings, scroll down to the Software update menu, and tap Download and install. Your device will then connect to Samsung’s servers and begin downloading the latest OTA package if it’s available for your model. Stay tuned as Samsung continues expanding the One UI 7 rollout to more devices and regions.
