Apple recently announced its next-generation operating systems: iOS 26 for iPhones and watchOS 26 for Apple Watches. And as expected, shortly after the launch, Samsung took to X to poke fun at Apple. The Korean firm mainly mocked Apple’s new design language and several AI-powered tools, gently reminding the world that its Galaxy devices have had those features for a long time.

Samsung responds to iOS 26 and watchOS 26 with mocking posts

With iOS 26, Apple introduced a new design language called “Liquid Glass.” The company described this design as a new translucent material that reflects and refracts its surroundings, bringing greater focus to content. If this sounds familiar, it’s because Samsung already implemented a similar design with its Android 15-based One UI 7 update. Unsurprisingly, the company took the opportunity to mock its arch-rival.

Furthermore, Samsung mocked Apple’s new AI capabilities introduced with iOS 26. Part of Apple Intelligence, the Cupertino-based tech giant has integrated Live Translation into Messages, FaceTime, and Phone to help users communicate across languages. Samsung quickly reminded the tech industry that it introduced real-time language translation capability last year with the Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung also made fun of Apple Watch’s new AI feature called Workout Buddy. Part of watchOS 26, Workout Buddy is a first-of-its-kind fitness experience that uses users’ workout data and history, such as heart rate, pace, distance, and Activity ring, to offer personalized insights. Since these features are already available on the Galaxy Watch, it was another opportunity for Samsung to take a dig at Apple.

Additionally, as 9to5Google points out, other iOS 26 features, such as Call Screening and Hold Assist, seem like direct copies of Google Pixel’s Call Screen and Hold for Me features. It looks like this year, Apple took a lot of inspiration not only from Samsung’s custom skin but also from Google Pixel’s stock Android offering. So much for “innovation.”
