The newly launched Galaxy S25 Edge is gaining traction because of its ultra-slim profile. But if you are wondering how Samsung stacked everything to achieve a thin profile while still delivering a top-tier experience, Zack Nelson of the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel has got you covered. The popular YouTuber recently published a teardown video giving us an inside look at the phone.

An inside look at the Galaxy S25 Edge

The Galaxy S25 Edge arrives as the slimmest Samsung flagship ever, with a thickness of just 5.8mm. Despite that, the Korean firm has maintained the legacy of the Galaxy S family in terms of design, performance, and camera. It has already started getting an enthusiastic response from consumers, mainly in its home country. However, it wasn’t easy to make this phone, as JerryRigEverything’s video reveals.

For DIY enthusiasts, Samsung has used 19 screws of varying in length and color inside the Galaxy S25 Edge, so you need to keep organized carefully during the repair. Thankfully, the company offers the same battery removal method as the rest of the line. It requires no adhesive and lets you take out the battery without any tools. Zack says this is the best method in the industry.

Though unconfirmed, it is probably part of the Circular Battery Supply Chain initiative. Of course, the size of the S25 Edge’s battery is smaller at just 3900mAh, which is one of the trade-offs to achieve its slimness.

The phone has a super-wide and flat vapor chamber cooling system to fit the phone’s slim profile. Samsung said it has created a custom thermal system with a 10% larger vapor chamber than the Galaxy S25+. Coming to the motherboard, the company has made the middle layer of the motherboard thinner compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which helps reduce thickness.

Samsung said it has implemented a titanium frame to give the Galaxy S25 Edge a lightweight and strong build. However, Zack says Samsung used an aluminum subframe as well, combined with a plastic intermediary layer with the titanium frame. You can watch the full teardown video below.

Meanwhile, if you are interested in an ultra-slim flagship smartphone that does not compromise on performance, you can buy the Galaxy S25 Edge from the official store. Samsung is currently offering a trade-in value up to $630, so you can take advantage of this opportunity as well.
