The Galaxy Z Flip FE is now looking increasingly likely to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in July. Although early reports pointed to a possible delay, recent developments suggest Samsung may unveil its new budget-friendly foldable at the upcoming Unpacked. The long-rumored tri-fold and the XR headset may not arrive next month, though.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip FE near launch

Samsung is gearing up to expand its foldable portfolio this year, introducing an affordable Flip model and a tri-fold. The former is shaping up to be a rebadged Galaxy Z Flip 6 with a different processor. Early reports suggested the new foldables would debut late in 2025, but it looks like the Flip FE is headed to the market earlier.

A couple of weeks ago, a trusted leaker revealed that Samsung has been mass-producing the affordable model’s live demo units for retail display purposes since April. The timeline matches that of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7. Now, a regulatory agency in Indonesia (TKDN) has certified all three models, signaling an imminent launch.

According to a separate industry source, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Fold 7, and Flip FE (aka Flip Xe) are already in mass production, further suggesting that Samsung is gearing up for a July unveiling for all three. The company should release the device globally next month. Or maybe the Flip FE will see a limited initial launch, we shall find out soon.

Meanwhile, Samsung continues its work on the tri-fold and the XR headset behind the scenes. The former is currently in parts production and may not see a global launch. It could launch only in South Korea and possibly China later this year. The same goes for the XR headset, which has entered mass production. Samsung may launch it globally later, but the initial availability could be limited to Korea.
