Just two days after its launch, Samsung’s One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series in the US has already reached full capacity. The company is no longer accepting new participants. It remains unclear whether additional slots will open in the coming weeks.

Samsung closes new One UI 8 beta registrations for the Galaxy S25 series in the US

On Wednesday, Samsung officially released the first Android 16-based One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. The beta program was launched in the US, Germany, South Korea, and the UK. Less than 48 hours later, the company has closed new registration stateside. A screenshot shared by X user @AdamJMatlock shows that Samsung has stopped enrolling Galaxy S25 users in the beta program.

“We’ve reached the participant limit for this beta program,” a notice appears on the screen when trying to register for the beta program via Samsung Members. “Thanks for your interest. Try again for the next beta,” the notice adds.

That notice makes it look like Samsung doesn’t plan to open more slots for the Galaxy S25’s One UI 8 beta in the US. It asks users to try for the “next beta.” However, history suggests the company will enroll more users later, as it typically opens beta programs in phases. The next opportunity to join is expected when Samsung rolls out the second beta build — One UI 8 Beta 2.

Those who missed the initial sign-up window will now have to wait for new slots to become available. Joining during the second phase could even be beneficial, as Beta 2 builds tend to be more stable and refined, incorporating feedback and bug fixes from the initial release. Samsung should also expand the One UI 8 beta program to India, China, and Poland in the second phase.
