Knox Vault is a secure, hardware-based system that protects important information like passwords, PINs, biometrics, and encryption keys. It uses a separate processor and its own memory, creating a physical barrier between sensitive data and the rest of the phone. According to Samsung, this helps protect against both hacking and physical tampering.

Samsung’s post also addresses growing concerns about personal data, as AI features become more advanced. Galaxy AI now helps with everyday tasks like summarizing calls and cleaning up audio in videos, which means it needs access to deeply personal information such as your location, photos, and even details from facial and object recognition. Samsung says keeping that information safe is a key reason why Knox Vault is so important.

Another way Samsung protects your data is by processing AI tasks directly on the device, instead of sending the data to the cloud. For example, tools like Audio Eraser (which removes background noise from videos), and Call Transcript (which records and summarizes calls) handle all data locally on the phone. Samsung says Knox Vault makes sure that the personal data these features rely on stays secure and private.

Knox Vault has been part of Galaxy devices since the Galaxy S21 series, but Samsung is emphasizing its importance now that AI is a bigger part of smartphone features. The company says it plans to expand Knox Vault across more AI tools in the future, as the technology continues to evolve.
