Latest Samsung Internet Beta Brings Further Redesigns

Samsung has been throwing out numerous redesigns to their suite of apps recently, including Weather, Quick Share and Samsung Internet. In fact, they started rolling out the first wave of that redesign in the latest One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 series. But they are working on much more behind the scenes. Here’s a sneak peek of all the changes inside the latest Samsung Internet Beta build!
Further improvements to the Samsung Internet’s homepage
The refreshed homepage, dubbed Experimental Homepage was notably absent from the first major update. We speculated that there was still work to be done. Well, with the latest version of Samsung Internet Beta, 28.0.4.50, they did indeed improve on the new menu.
The From other devices carousel got a fade effect on the left and right sides, instead of the harsh cut-offs we had before. Additionally, you can now load any image from your gallery for the wallpaper, alongside a selection of featured wallpapers and some solid colours too.
Other smaller changes in Samsung Internet Beta
Some other changes are also underway for Samsung’s web browser. The URL bar has reduced corner rounding, opting for a boxier look. This is a change one twitter user described as “What in the Safari”, pointing out the similarities with Apple’s browser.
The Tab Switcher also has some changes being worked on behind the scenes. One floating action button (FAB) will take over the role of the two separate buttons to open a new tab and to switch to Secret mode. This will leave much more room for your open tabs and their previews.
How can you try these new features out?
Here is where we would tell you how to access the debug menu and try out the new design. But starting with version, you don’t need to. Samsung Internet Beta version 28.0.4.50 actually enables the Experimental Homepage out of the box, along with the new URL bar and menu dialog design. The only exception is the new Tab Switcher, which is hidden behind a debug flag. It is still rather buggy, however, so we wouldn’t recommend switching that on just yet.
