Samsung’s One UI 8 beta update is officially here, with the first beta build rolling out to Galaxy S25 users in several countries. The company is pushing the ZYER build with an OTA file size of over 3.3GB, though the size varies depending on the model and region. More Galaxy devices should get the beta update in the coming weeks.

Galaxy S25 series gets its first One UI 8 beta update

Based on Android 16, the One UI 8 beta update brings a host of new features and enhancements, promising a more refined, faster, and personalized user experience. Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra users in Korea are picking up the first beta build with firmware version S93*NKSU3ZYER.

Alongside Korea, Samsung has announced the One UI 8 beta programs for the latest flagships in Germany, the UK, and the US. If you are using an eligible model in any of these markets — the Galaxy S25 Edge isn’t eligible — you can join the beta through the Samsung Members app. Simply navigate to the Beta Program section and look for the One UI 8 Beta banner. If eligible, tap “Join,” accept the terms, and follow the prompts.

Once you have successfully registered for One UI 8 beta, you’ll receive the first beta build like a regular update. You can manually check for it from Settings > Software update > Download and install. As mentioned above, the PTA package weighs over 3.3GB, so it’s best to download the file over an unmetered Wi-Fi network. You should also back up important files and data before installing the beta update.

Samsung has already announced plans to release the stable One UI 8 update with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 later this summer. The new foldables are expected to debut in the first half of July. The update may roll out to other eligible models starting in August.
