One UI 8 Will Help You Get More from Third-Party Bluetooth Devices

The One UI 8 beta could be here any time soon. From everything we’ve learned, the Galaxy S25 series (except the Galaxy S25 Edge) will be among the first devices to get the beta. That should pave the way for One UI 8 rollout, starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. There probably isn’t much new compared to One UI 7, but there will definitely be some solid improvements. Speaking of which, One UI 8 will finally bring something useful for third-party Bluetooth devices.

One UI 8 brings icons and battery percentage for third-party bluetooth devices

If you use a third-party Bluetooth headset with your Galaxy devices, you probably notice you miss out on some visual features. For example, you don’t see the correct icon for your headset. Nor do you get to see the live battery percentage on the Bluetooth settings screen. That’s about to change with One UI 8, according to screenshots shared by X user @TechA7mad. This will make it easier for users to manage their Bluetooth devices.

So, if you connect a non-Samsung Bluetooth headset to your Galaxy phone or tablet, you’ll be able to see how much battery it has left. The battery percentage will show up both in the list of paired devices and when you tap on a device for more details. Plus, One UI 8 will display a picture of the headset you’re using. Even if it’s not made by Samsung, making it easier to know which device is connected.

Of course, this isn’t a huge change, mostly just a nicer visual upgrade. Speaking of the One UI 8 beta program, the Galaxy S25 Edge (hands-on) won’t be joining at first. But it’s likely to come in the second wave. That wave might also include the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Fold 7, and possibly even the Galaxy S24 series if all goes well.
