Samsung Pushes May 2025 Security Update to Galaxy Z Flip 5, Fold 5

It’s been raining updates at Samsung’s camp for the past few weeks. Alongside rolling out One UI 7, the company is pushing monthly security patches to eligible Galaxy devices. It is keeping up the momentum with the May 2025 security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Samsung’s May update goes live for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5
The May 2025 update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 has first landed in South Korea, and a broader global release is expected in the coming days. Users can identify this release by the One UI build version F731NKSS5EYE2 for the Flip model and F946NKSS5EYE2 for the Fold. The download package weighs around 400MB, suggesting it’s a routine security update without major new features or UI changes.
Despite its small size, the update plays a big role in improving device protection. The May 2025 security patch for the Galaxy family fixes nearly 60 high-severity vulnerabilities across several Android OS components. Additionally, Samsung patched 20 One UI-specific issues on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, so it’s a pretty large security release.
If you’ve already upgraded your Galaxy Z Flip 5 or Fold 5 to One UI 7, it’s a good idea to check for this security patch. To do so, simply go to Settings, navigate to the Software update menu, and select Download and install. If you see an update, install it. As mentioned above, this update doesn’t bring anything more than the latest security fixes — One UI 7 already contains a lot of goodies for your devices.
Looking ahead, both the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 are eligible for Samsung’s One UI 8 upgrade. Based on Android 16, the next update may be available in beta within the next couple of weeks. The initial beta rollout may be limited to select regions and models, though. We will keep you posted.
