Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. Earlier this month, the vanilla model received the FCC certification, revealing the charging speed and connectivity options. Both upcoming watches have now cleared China’s 3C certification process, hinting at imminent launch.

Galaxy Watch 8 and 8 Classic clear 3C certification ahead of launch

Alongside the standard Galaxy Watch 8, the Korean firm is expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which could feature a physical rotating bezel. The former will carry the model number SM-L3350, while the latter will bear the SM-L5050 model number. Folks over at Xpertpick recently spotted both models on a Chinese regulatory website (3C).

The listing reveals that the upcoming Samsung smartwatches will support a 10W wireless charging speed. On top of that, both models will boast LTE connectivity, letting users receive calls and messages without needing their phone nearby (only on LTE variants).

This is not the first time we have heard the charging speed and LTE connectivity details of these watches — previously, the FCC listing revealed these specs for the Galaxy Watch 8. The 3C certification confirms that the Classic model will also top out at 10W charging, the same as the 2024 lineup.

Based on earlier leaks, both Galaxy Watch 8 models could adopt a squircle frame with a rounded display, similar to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. This could be the new design identity for Samsung smartwatches. The devices may run WearOS 6-based One UI 8 Watch software out of the box.

Unsurprisingly, the 3C listing does not reveal any other details, though this listing suggests that Samsung is very close to launching the Galaxy Watch 8 duo. The Korean firm may announce both wearables alongside the new foldable lineup in early July during the summer Unpacked event. Since the launch is approaching, we can expect more details to emerge in the coming weeks.
