Even though some Galaxy S25 models like the Galaxy S25 Edge and S25 FE haven’t fully rolled out yet, the rumor mill is already shifting gears to the Galaxy S26. A few early reports are pointing to some changes coming down the line for Samsung’s next flagship. The big question, will the Galaxy S26 run on Exynos 2600 or Snapdragon 8 Elite 2?
Samsung wants to fit Exynos 2600 chips inside Galaxy S26 series, but it’s not easy
The answer, it seems, is both. At least in some form. According to Jukanlosreve, Samsung might be planning a split-chip strategy for the Galaxy S26. Is it too early to say for sure? Maybe. But considering Jukanlosreve’s solid track record, it’s worth paying attention to what might be happening behind the scenes.
The Galaxy S25 series launched with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite across all regions. That was a win for consumers, no doubt. But on the business side, it raised some questions. Samsung has its own semiconductor division, LSI, which handles in-house chip development. Letting that sit on the bench isn’t a long-term solution.
So the real question is whether Samsung sticks with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 or brings the Exynos 2600 with Galaxy S26 series. Early reports suggest the latter is in play, at least in some regions like Europe. Samsung has shipped Exynos variants in select markets before, including Europe and India, while reserving Snapdragon for regions like the US.
If that pattern holds, the US and other key regions would likely get the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which is reportedly on track for an early release this year.
Not long after the Galaxy S25 dropped, a wave of reports followed. Some suggested Samsung is going big on the Exynos 2600. This would be the company’s second serious shot at building a flagship chip entirely in-house. If it happens, the Exynos 2600 could be built using a 2nm process, which would be a major technical leap. The challenge is production. Yield rates at 2nm are still low, which could slow things down. Either way, it’s still early. We’ll likely know more in the coming months.
