What a time to be alive. One UI 7 still hasn’t fully made its way to all eligible devices, with the rollout expected to drag on until July. And yet, hot on its heels, rumors of the One UI 8 beta are already swirling. It seems the launch timeline for the next major beta program has been quietly tipped off.

One UI 8 beta arrives next month, signaling early launch

One UI 8 is expected to make its debut in July, launching alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. These devices will ship with Android 16-based One UI 8 straight out of the box, which also means we can kiss any hopes of One UI 7.1 or 7.1.1 goodbye.

According to Tarun Vats, citing “sources,” the One UI 8 beta could launch as early as next month. That suggests users might be able to hop on board the beta train in June. Still, Vats advises taking this information with a grain of salt. And, in all fairness, so do we.

Samsung has reportedly been working behind the scenes on Android 16-based One UI 8 for some time now. Some even speculate it’s the company’s way of making up for the drawn-out One UI 7 rollout. To sweeten the deal, Android 16 itself seems to be ahead of schedule, giving Samsung a double advantage in pushing out One UI 8 sooner rather than later. A bunch of One UI 8 apps have also seemingly made their way out.

That said, while an early beta launch sounds tempting, I’d say June feels a tad too optimistic. A more realistic window might be late July or even early August. But hey, if Samsung decides to surprise us and roll it out ahead of schedule, who’s going to complain?
