Samsung’s Premiere lineup of projectors, just welcomed a new model, The Premiere 5. While the company announced this model during CES 2025, it was not available in the market until now. Finally, Samsung has made the new premium projector available for purchase in South Korea. More markets may follow later.

Samsung’s The Premiere 5 projector supports touch control

Samsung today confirmed that it is launching The Premiere 5 in Korea with touch interaction functions. It features a compact design and offers users sharper picture quality. You can use the projector in different environments such as education, business, and home entertainment.

“The Premiere 5 is a lifestyle-centric product designed to enable immersive experiences anytime, anywhere, beyond content,” said Heon Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung. “With its touch interaction features, it will set a new standard for screen experiences in everyday life, including home entertainment.

The Premiere 5 arrives in the market as the industry’s first interactive triple-laser ultra-short-throw (UST) projector. Its interactive touch feature allows users to engage directly with the screen. It uses Samsung LightWARP to project images onto everyday objects for creative and immersive experiences.

The Premiere 5’s triple laser technology enables you to project content up to 100 inches from a distance of about 43 cm. This makes it easy to create a large display on any flat surface such as a wall, floor, or table.

The dedicated stand also features an infrared camera and an infrared laser module to support touch controls. This is mainly useful when you play games — for example, if you mirror smartphone content onto a table, you can use the table like a touchscreen.

Thanks to its Vision Booster technology, which analyzes the surrounding brightness automatically to adjust the contrast, color, and brightness. On top of that, you can also use the SmartThings app on the projector that lets you connect and control several smart devices such as lights, air purifiers, and TVs.

As far as pricing is concerned, The Premiere 5 costs KRW 1.99 million (roughly $1,379) in South Korea. It should be available for purchase at Samsung’s online and offline stores. There’s no word yet on its global release.
