Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2025 — Everything We Expect

by | Apr 24, 2025 | Galaxy Z, News

Samsung’s foldable refresh is just a few weeks away now. At the summer Galaxy Unpacked 2025 in July, Samsung may finally pull the curtains back on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. But these aren’t the only devices Samsung could debut. There’s likely more in store. At least, that’s what we believe.

And as we inch closer to the big day, why not take you through a quick preview of what’s coming (or what might not show up)? We’ll also talk about how you can watch the summer Galaxy Unpacked 2025 right from the comfort of your home.

How to watch summer Galaxy Unpacked 2025?

That’s probably the most important part. It’s how you can catch everything in action. We’ll be reporting live as usual, but just in case you’d rather watch it yourself, here’s how you can tune into the summer Galaxy Unpacked from the comfort of your couch.

You’ll be able to catch all the updates either on YouTube (via Samsung’s official channel) or through Samsung.com. Samsung hasn’t dropped the watch link yet, since there are still a few weeks to go. We’ll update this article with the links as soon as Samsung makes them official.

What to expect at summer Galaxy Unpacked 2025?

A report published earlier today (April 24) suggests that Samsung will host the summer Galaxy Unpacked 2025 (aka July Unpacked) in New York. It would be Samsung’s second product launch in NY since 2022, and we’re already pumped. Here’s everything we expect to see during the show.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7

At the heart of the event will be the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. These will be the direct successors to the current Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. While earlier reports suggested only minor enhancements, OnLeaks (via Android Headlines) published CAD renders hinting at a major overhaul coming to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7.

Both phones are expected to pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite under the hood. Probably the biggest news is that they may run One UI 8 out of the box. That was first tipped by Ice Universe a few weeks ago, and later reports confirmed that Samsung is testing the Android 16-based One UI 8 for these upcoming devices. It makes sense given that Samsung has reportedly scrapped plans of One UI 7.1 or One UI 7.1.1.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 could feature an 8.2-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch cover display, with cameras similar to those on the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. The Flip 7 is expected to come with a 6.8-inch inner display and a 4-inch cover display. If these specs hold water, we’re in for quite the upgrade.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE

There’s a slim (ironically) chance that Samsung could use the event to debut the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (or Flip FE), depending on what Samsung decides to call it. It will essentially be a trimmed-down rebranding of last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 6. We exclusively published the CAD renders in partnership with OnLeaks, giving us an early look at what to expect.

Whenever it launches, it’s likely to be a top pick for budget buyers or those looking to dip their toes into the foldable scene for the first time. The processor for the Z Flip 7 FE is still up in the air, but some rumors point to the Exynos 2400e, which is also expected to power the Galaxy S25 FE. It was the same chip used in last year’s Galaxy S24 FE.

Galaxy tri-fold (or multi-fold)

Samsung hasn’t confirmed the actual name for this product yet, even though we’ve been hearing about it for quite some time. There’s a good chance Samsung might finally debut the tri-fold during the summer Galaxy Unpacked event, especially since it confirmed the device during the January Unpacked. Um, something that looked like part of a release roadmap. It could launch as the Galaxy G Fold.

The device may feature an inward-folding mechanism, meaning it could fold twice. When fully unfolded, the main screen could stretch to nearly 9.9 or even 10 inches. That’s massive, honestly. We’ll eventually get to see what Samsung has been cooking behind the scenes and what other surprises it might have up its sleeve.

Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic

Now, let’s talk about the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, which could also make their debut at July Unpacked. There’s a good chance Samsung will continue its tradition of refreshing the smartwatch lineup. One of the big comebacks is the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which is reportedly bringing back the fan-favorite rotating bezel that was sorely missed in 2024’s lineup.

Galaxy Watch8 Classic GSMA

Leaks and government filings—specifically a model number SM-L505U—pretty much confirm the Classic’s return. Expect three Wi-Fi/Bluetooth models and three LTE versions, with the standard Watch 8 coming in 40mm and 44mm sizes, while the Classic looks like it’ll stick to just one.

Samsung may stick with its familiar circular design instead of the rumored squircle shape, but that doesn’t mean it’ll look or feel outdated. Rumors of a switch from OLED to MicroLED displays are picking up steam. If true, that would bring major upgrades in brightness, energy efficiency, and overall clarity.

Samsung’s Android XR “Project Moohan”

Samsung has shown off its Android XR device, codenamed Project Moohan, on multiple occasions. What a pity, it still doesn’t have a name, but that might change at July Unpacked. Rumors have been swirling that Samsung could release it around Google I/O 2025 (happening May 20-21), which means there’s a real chance we could see it during the event. And if not, it’s happening in Q4 2025 anyway.

Project Moohan runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 chip with built-in AI smarts and deep integration of Google’s Gemini AI. The headset supports the entire Android app ecosystem with the Android XR operating system, and early reports suggest immersive versions of familiar apps, alongside gesture-based controls using finger and hand tracking. With a mix of external and inward-facing cameras, plus a host of sensors for real-time eye tracking and environmental awareness, Project Moohan could be a full-fledged spatial computing device.
