Of course, this report focuses specifically on stock gifting. It doesn’t mean Samsung shares were gifted more often than hardware products. Traditional gifts like smartphones and watches were almost certainly exchanged in far higher volumes. Still, the trend is notable and reinforces Samsung’s status as South Korea’s most valuable conglomerate.

It houses some of the company’s most profitable and influential businesses, including semiconductors, smartphones, and consumer electronics. For many Koreans, owning Samsung stock isn’t just an investment, but a statement. There’s also a strong emotional and cultural angle, as the company is seen as a symbol of national technological leadership.
