X Will Keep Posts Visible While Users Browse Linked Content

If you share a post on X with your article link, engagement often drops compared to a post without a link. Thankfully, X is now addressing the problem with a new feature that keeps the original post visible while users view the linked content. The feature is currently in the testing phase on iOS, but it should also make its way to Android.
X aims to boost engagement on posts with links
One of the common problems for creators is that their posts with links get lower reach on X. The reason is that when someone clicks a link, the web browser covers the screen while hiding the original post. Many users don’t come back to like, reply, or repost, meaning your post gets less engagement. As a result, the algorithm can’t get a clear signal about whether the content is good.
To fix this, X is currently testing a new feature to make it easier for your followers to engage with your post while browsing links. In a post on X, Nikita Bier, the head of product at X, wrote, “To help get better signal, posts will now collapse to the bottom of the page so people can react while you’re reading”. That means when someone clicks a link in your post, the original post won’t disappear.
We’re testing a new link experience, starting on iOS — to make it easier for your followers to engage with your post while browsing links.

Bier also said that the post should stand alone as great content, so write a solid caption. For writers or journalists who left X in the last couple of years, returning now could be a big opportunity to reach a lot of readers. This move is part of Elon Musk’s vision of making X into the “everything app”.
Apart from this interface change, X is also changing its recommendation system. Grok AI will now read every post and watch every video (100M+ per day). This will allow the system to match content with users who are most likely to find it interesting. That means even if you have a few followers, your posts could reach a larger audience (of course, the content should be engaging).
