US Galaxy Watch 5 Units Get One UI 8 Update with New Features

Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 5 series in the United States. The update carries the firmware build version DYK4 and arrives over a week after the initial release in South Korea. Users in other markets can also expect to receive the new version in the coming days.

Based on Wear OS 6, One UI 8 Watch is a major software upgrade for Samsung smartwatches. It brings a wave of new features, design refinements, and system improvements. One of the standout additions is the new Tiles system. Users can now create custom tiles by combining information from multiple apps into a single, personalized glance.
Along with new tiles, One UI 8 Watch brings improvements to watch faces, especially in low-light environments. Samsung is extending Low Light Mode to function as a full dark mode on supported watch faces, making them easier to read at night or in dim settings. The update also puts a renewed focus on wellness, introducing upgraded mindfulness tools such as mood tracking and guided breathing exercises.
These features are integrated into Samsung Health to help users manage stress, improve focus, and maintain a better sense of balance throughout the day. On top of this, apps now launch faster, load quicker, and run more efficiently, resulting in smoother operation and better battery life.
The Galaxy Watch 5 series follows the Watch 6 and Watch 7 series in receiving the One UI 8 update. Samsung also recently released the update for the Watch FE, with the Watch 4 lineup expected to join it soon. Users can check for updates from the Galaxy Wearable app on their paired smartphone. Go to Watch settings, tap Watch software update, and select Download and install to proceed.
