The last few weeks were busy in terms of update releases and One UI 8.5 software testing. This week, however, Samsung seems to have slowed down. One UI 8.5 builds for a few models appeared on servers. Additionally, the December 2025 security patch was released for select devices last week. Last updated on January 3, 2026.
Samsung slows down December 2025 security patch rollout
Samsung began One UI 8.5 testing for a few budget and midrange models this week. One UI 8.5 builds for most tablets and flagship devices have already appeared on servers. The company is now shifting its focus toward budget and midrange phones. The first One UI 8.5 builds were spotted for the Galaxy A06 4G, Galaxy A15 5G, Galaxy M56, Galaxy F56, Galaxy M34, and Galaxy F34.

Samsung may have paused the One UI 8 Watch rollout for the Galaxy Watch 4 series. The company appears to have removed the build from servers due to issues reported with the update. These issues include sensor and battery related problems. For users who haven’t installed the update yet, it should return once Samsung fixes these issues.
