All The Updates Samsung Released This Week for Galaxy Devices (Dec 14–21)

Samsung had a very busy week with software updates. The company rolled out the December 2025 security patch for more than 60 Galaxy devices across flagships, foldables, tablets, and a large number of midrange and budget models. Alongside this, Samsung is also wrapping up the remaining One UI 8 updates and moving closer to the One UI 8.5 beta expansion. Last updated on December 20.
December 2025 security patch rolls out to more Galaxy devices and Samsung gears up for One UI 8.5 release
Samsung is finishing the One UI 8 rollout in the remaining regions. The Galaxy Tab A9+ recently received the One UI 8 update in markets like India, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. This is important as the company is gearing up for the One UI 8.5 stable release.

In addition to phones and tablets, the One UI 8 Watch rollout also came to an end this week. All eligible Galaxy Watches have now received the update. These watches got the One UI 8 Watch update this week.

List of Galaxy devices that received December 2025 security patch this week
Now coming to the main thing, the December 2025 security patch. It released for around 60 devices this week. The Galaxy A34 was the first device to receive it. Over the past two weeks, the update mainly reached flagship phones and foldables. This week, budget and midrange Galaxy A and M series devices also joined the list. The December 2025 patch addresses 68 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and their partners. As of now, no Galaxy F series device has received the update, but the rollout should expand further in the coming days. As of now, Samsung is now shifting its focus fully to One UI 8.5. The beta program for the Galaxy S25 series is already live, and the second beta is expected next week. Galaxy S25 users in India and Poland should also gain access soon. One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 QPR2 and brings several improvements and refinements. All eligible devices are expected to receive the stable update in the first half of next year.
The November 2025 security patch did not roll out for any new device this week. If you own any of the devices mentioned above, you can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the download completes, tap Install now to install the update Make sure your phone has enough battery and is not overheating before installing the package.
