If you are a Galaxy device user streaming music on the Spotify app, you may have noticed that it sometimes crashes when connected to Wi-Fi. This is quite frustrating, especially when you are in the middle of a favorite song. The good news is that the streaming service provider is aware of the issue and promises to fix it.

Spotify confirms app crashes on Samsung and Pixel devices

Several affected users recently took to Spotify’s forum to share their experiences. One user wrote, “My Spotify app has become unusable while connected to my home wifi. It opens, but just freezes and then crashes.” When they disconnect from Wi-Fi and begin using mobile data, the app works again, suggesting that the issue lies with the app’s interaction with Wi-Fi networks.

According to 9to5Google, the issue is affecting a lot of users, though it’s not yet widespread. Thankfully, Spotify has acknowledged the problem and is working on a fix.”We’ve received reports from Android users (mainly Samsung and Google Pixel) experiencing issues where the Spotify app becomes unresponsive, freezes, or crashes when connected to certain WiFi networks. The issue doesn’t occur while using mobile data,” noted Spotify.

The company further said that its tech team is currently looking into the issue. While it didn’t share a specific timeline for a fix, this issue should be resolved within a few days. It’s unclear whether the company will address the problem on the server-side or through an update to the app. Keep an eye out for the latest Spotify app update and install it as soon as it becomes available.

Speaking of workarounds, you can try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Spotify app. This might solve crashing and freezing issues if the problem occurred due to corrupted app data. Furthermore, clearing the app’s cache or restarting your device might also fix the problem. We’ll keep an eye on any update and will be sure to let you know.
