Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A57 may not use in-house displays exclusively. Reports suggest the premium mid-range smartphone will feature flexible OLED panels supplied by both Samsung Display and Chinese display maker TCL CSOT. If true, this will be the first time CSOT supplies OLED screens for the Galaxy A5x lineup.

Samsung may add CSOT as a second display supplier for Galaxy A57

The Galaxy A5x series sits at the top of Samsung’s mid-range lineup, just below the flagship Galaxy S series. Until now, Samsung Display has been the only supplier of OLED panels for these phones. However, Samsung now plans to add CSOT as a second supplier for the Galaxy A57, according to a report from TheElec. This move could threaten Samsung Display’s exclusive position, though it is still expected to supply more units than its rival CSOT.

The report also says that Samsung plans to use flexible OLED panels in the Galaxy A57. Previous Galaxy A5 models used rigid OLED displays, which are cheaper but result in thicker bezels. Flexible OLED panels use a plastic substrate instead of glass, allowing for thinner bezels and more design freedom. However, since these panels are more expensive, this could create a pricing challenge for the Korean firm.

As a result, Samsung has asked Samsung Display to supply flexible OLED panels for the A series at a price similar to that of rigid OLED panels. Meanwhile, CSOT has offered flexible OLED panels at a lower price than Samsung Display. In the mid-range smartphone segment, Chinese rivals are already offering flexible OLED displays in affordable devices. So it is now high time for Samsung to follow suit.

As far as the launch is concerned, the Galaxy A57 may debut in February 2026. This is about a month ahead of the A5 series’ usual March launch window. More details about the device are expected to emerge in the coming months.
