Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro Specs Leak

Qualcomm may unveil two flagship mobile processors this year. Rumors suggest they’ll be called Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. They’re still months away from an official debut, as Qualcomm usually announces Snapdragon chips in September or October, but key specs of both may have already leaked.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro specs leak with GPU, cache, RAM differences
Popular tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo says Qualcomm’s upcoming lineup may include two chips identified as SM8950 and SM8975. These are widely believed to launch as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, of which the tipster has revealed specs. Both are tipped to use TSMC’s 2nm process and a 2+3+3 CPU setup, likely based on Qualcomm’s custom Oryon cores.
The differences seem to come down to graphics and memory. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950) could feature an Adreno 845 GPU with 12MB of graphics cache. It will also support quad-channel LPDDR5X RAM. It may also include 6MB of last-level cache.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975), on the other hand, could get a more powerful Adreno 850 GPU, 18MB of graphics cache, and support for both LPDDR5X and LPDDR6 memory. It’s also tipped to have 8MB of last-level cache.
LPDDR6 support would be a meaningful upgrade, with higher bandwidth and better power efficiency for gaming and on-device AI. The larger graphics cache on the Pro variant could also help with sustained GPU performance.
The report adds that the SM8975 may cost significantly more to produce, which could limit it to devices like the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The SM8950 is expected to show up across more standard flagship phones. Does this suggest we may see base Galaxy S27 models use the non-Pro model? Well, that’s a possibility for now. In addition, previous rumors also say Qualcomm may use Samsung on Heat-Pass Block thermal tech.
