Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Tipped to Score 4M+ AnTuTu Score

The name of the chipset set to succeed the Snapdragon 8 Elite has us a bit confused. It could be either the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, according to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station. With not much time left until Qualcomm drops it, a new leak gives us a hint of just how powerful it could be.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 could be a big leap if AnTuTu is any guide
According to Digital Chat Station (DCS), the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (or Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, whichever it ends up being called) has scored over 4 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark. That would put it well ahead of current top-tier chips, which typically score between 2.5 and 3 million. If true, it’s a huge leap.

DCS also shares some key details about the chip. It’s expected to feature a two-prime-core and six-performance-core setup, with the prime cores running at 4.61 GHz and the performance cores at 3.63 GHz. Qualcomm is said to have skipped low-power cores entirely, focusing solely on high-performance CPU cores. Graphics will be handled by the Adreno 840 GPU, running at 1.2 GHz. This promises a noticeable boost for gaming and other graphics-heavy apps.
Of course, there will be a “for Galaxy” variant
With the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 already rumored to power the Galaxy S26 series (at least in major markets), we’ll likely see a “for Galaxy” version as well. This version is said to have slightly faster prime cores at 4.74 GHz, giving the Galaxy S26 series an Edge. Pun intended.
The upcoming chipset could be manufactured using TSMC’s N3P 3nm process. Earlier reports suggested Samsung was involved in production, but follow-ups indicate otherwise, effectively pushing Samsung out of the picture.
Whatever it ends up being called, we won’t have to wait long. Qualcomm has confirmed it will host the Snapdragon Summit on September 23, 2025, in Hawaii.
