The full Galaxy S25 lineup hasn’t even been revealed yet, and here we go. The rumor mill is already churning hard about the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. About a month ago, the first set of benchmarks for the upcoming SoC surfaced, confirming some key details. Even before that, it was tipped (via DCS) that Qualcomm — the maker of Snapdragon chips — could release the 8 Elite 2 earlier than its predecessor.
Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is coming in September
Now, the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station aka DCS is back again, sharing additional information on Weibo. According to him, Qualcomm is on track, with no changes to the company’s “internal schedule.” Per the tipster, Qualcomm is planning to debut the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 at “the end of September.” “The first batch of manufacturers will basically release it in October,” he adds.
Last year, Qualcomm held its Summit in Hawaii from October 21 to 23. If DCS’s claims are accurate, the Qualcomm Summit could take place during the week of September 22. We’re still hoping that Qualcomm will host the Summit between September 22 and 25, as they usually wrap things up before midweek.
Early benchmark leaks suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is shaping up to be a powerhouse. We’ll know all the official details soon enough.
