Samsung has won 47 honors at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2025. These include two Gold, three Silver, and three Bronze awards, along with 39 finalist recognitions. This shows the company’s effort in making innovative design solutions for a better lifestyle and experiences.

Samsung’s design excellence is recognized across 20 categories

Founded in 1980, IDEA is one of the world’s most prestigious design awards programs by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). This year, the program celebrates design across 20 categories, including consumer technology, home appliances, and digital interaction. Depending on several evaluation criteria such as design innovation, benefit to users, and benefit to society, judges selected the winners.

Speaking of Samsung’s Gold awards, the first Gold went to the Mobile Design Visual Identity System, while the second went to Inclusive Essentials. The former is a system that focuses on refining each form factor of the Galaxy series into an intuitive shape. The goal is to effectively communicate the brand message across multiple platforms, such as packaging and retail stores. Meanwhile, the latter enhances the accessibility of home appliances through its visionary design.

The company also secured three Silver awards for the Galaxy Tab S10 Series, Advanced Concept for Samsung Smart Modular House, and Digital Twin. The Tab S10 series is the company’s first tablet line with built-in AI features. It includes a 3D Map View that gives users a visual overview of their homes and connected devices. The Smart Modular Concept is a vision of future living spaces, while the Digital Twin is an AI-powered solution for smart building management.

Regarding Bronze awards, the first went to the Galaxy S24 FE, a smartphone with AI-powered photography. The second went to the Vision AI Onscreen Story, a visual representation of Samsung’s TV branding. The third went to the EHS MONO Outdoor-Indoor System, a home heat pump that works with SmartThings.

Furthermore, the company received 39 finalist recognitions across TVs, home appliances, smartphones, and more. Some examples include the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Smart Monitor M9, and Bespoke AI Laundry Hub. “Innovation born from advanced technology and human empathy enriches our people’s lives,” said Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer of the DX Division at Samsung.
