Samsung Wants You to Buy Only One Galaxy S26 Model — the Ultra

Samsung may not have officially unveiled the Galaxy S26 series yet, but behind the scenes, a clear decision already seems to be in place. The company appears to view the S26 Ultra as the true bearer of its flagship identity, while the base S26 and S26+ exist largely to round out the lineup. The early signals suggest Samsung’s confidence is overwhelmingly concentrated on a single model.

Samsung has decided on the Galaxy S26 model you should buy

Last month, the Korean media revealed that Samsung has committed the overwhelming majority of its production capacity to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It reportedly plans to produce approximately 3.6 million units of the Ultra in the first batch, compared to 700,000 units of the base S26 and 600,000 units of the S26+. The gap is massive and impossible to ignore.

Of course, the Ultra has traditionally been the best-selling model in Samsung’s flagship lineup. In previous generations, however, its share typically stayed below 60%. This year, the company appears to be anticipating a far more dramatic shift. These early production allocations suggest that the S26 Ultra will account for nearly 74% of all S26 sales. That’s roughly three Ultras sold for every single S26 or S26+ combined.

As noted by tipster Ice Universe, when a company pushes a single model so much, it’s sending a message far more honest than any marketing campaign. Samsung is betting heavily on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The base Galaxy S26 and S26+, by comparison, feel like supporting acts. These two exist to round out the lineup rather than define it. Samsung believes, or rather hopes, consumers will buy the Ultra and ignore the rest.

Whether this projection turns out to be accurate, only time will tell. The Galaxy S26 series is set to launch on February 25, with sales expected to begin on March 11.
