Samsung Adds Digital Key Support for Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs

Samsung is bringing its digital car key tech to India, partnering with Mahindra. Now, Galaxy users can unlock, lock, and even start their Mahindra electric SUVs using Samsung Wallet. The feature will debut on Mahindra’s upcoming Electric Origin lineup, including the XEV 9e and BE 6. It will roll out across the country soon.
You can unlock Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 straight from your Galaxy
Once paired through Samsung Wallet, compatible Galaxy phones can function as virtual keys. Depending on the model, drivers can simply walk up to their car to unlock it or tap the handle to get in. The engine can be started without a key, and owners can share digital access temporarily with family or friends directly through the app.

Commenting on the partnership, Madhur Chaturvedi, Senior Director of Services and Apps Business at Samsung India, said:
“We are very excited to bring Mahindra eSUV owners the incredible convenience of Samsung Digital Key through Samsung Wallet. Expanding access to Samsung Digital Car Key is an important part of our commitment to delivering connected and secure experiences within the Galaxy ecosystem. Our partnership with Mahindra marks another exciting step forward in making everyday activities—like driving—hassle-free for more Galaxy users”
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., added:
“Our Electric Origin SUVs – XEV 9e and BE 6 have captivated our customers with their advanced technology and futuristic designs. We are delighted to partner with Samsung to bring yet another first-in-class feature – Digital Car key via Samsung wallet, ensuring every journey is even more seamless and convenient. This latest innovation again exemplifies Mahindra’s commitment to delivering an exceptional ownership experience with premium, intelligent electric SUVs for India.”
Mishaps can happen, and if a phone with a stored key is lost or stolen, owners can lock or wipe it remotely through Samsung Find. You might also want to know how to track your Galaxy phone even when mobile data is turned off. The feature is protected by biometric or PIN-based verification and Samsung’s Knox security platform.
Samsung Wallet already supports digital keys for brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, BYD, Hyundai, Mini, Kia, and others. Mahindra’s addition marks a first, bringing Samsung Wallet’s digital car key to India.
