Samsung Wallet Adding Support for Select Porsche Digital Keys

You may already know how efficiently you can store digital keys in Samsung Wallet on a Galaxy phone. It already supports digital keys for multiple car brands, and now the company has announced that it’s adding support for the Porsche Macan (MY26) and the upcoming Cayenne Electric.

Starting with the Porsche Macan, Galaxy users will be able to unlock and start their vehicle using Samsung Wallet instead of a physical key. The same feature is also planned for the upcoming Cayenne Electric, which is expected to follow later.

Once set up, the digital key is stored in Samsung Wallet alongside your payment cards, passes, and IDs. You simply swipe up, select the key, and your phone handles the rest. The system uses a combination of Ultra-Wideband and NFC to communicate with the car. This allows both hands-free access and tap-to-unlock depending on the situation.

Porsche’s digital key meets EAL6+ security standards, and Samsung adds its own device-level protections on top. If a phone is ever lost or stolen, owners can remotely lock or completely remove the key through Samsung’s Find service. The system also supports key sharing, so access can be granted to family members or friends without handing over a physical fob.

So how do you get started? First, you’ll need to install the My Porsche app, and link it to your vehicle. Next, you’ll need to follow the steps to add the digital key to Samsung Wallet. After that, your phone effectively becomes the primary car key. The initial rollout is scheduled for Europe, with a broader international release expected as Porsche introduces more compatible models.
