Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone Tipped for October Launch

Samsung is gearing up to expand its 2025 foldable lineup with the introduction of its first tri-fold device. A few days ago, a company executive revealed that the device will hit the market by the end of this year. A trademark application has since revealed what could be its official marketing name. Now, a fresh leak has shed light on its potential launch window, suggesting that the tri-fold could debut as early as October.
New leak reveals Samsung’s tri-fold foldable may launch in October
Samsung recently took the wraps off its seventh-generation foldable models at the Unpacked event. While many were hoping the company would also tease its upcoming tri-fold device during the event, the presentation remained focused on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The good news is that we are just a few months away from the unveiling of Samsung’s new form factor device.
According to well-known tipster Ice Universe on Weibo (via Android Authority), the much-awaited triple-screen foldable will go official in October 2025. The tipster further says that HUAWEI’s second-generation Mate XT will hit the market in September 2025. If true, the smartphone world will welcome two of the most advanced foldable devices to date, launching just weeks apart.

It is still unclear whether Samsung will hold a separate event for the tri-fold device, but it seems highly likely. The company may take the opportunity to unveil its upcoming XR headset around the same time. In fact, an earlier report revealed that Samsung’s first Android XR headset will be available starting October 13.
However, don’t get your hopes too high — the tri-fold will reportedly launch only in South Korea and China initially. Depending on user response and market demand, the company may gradually expand availability to other regions. As for the price, it might cost more than $2,900, which is quite expensive compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that starts at $1,999. As the launch approaches, we expect more details to emerge in the coming months.
