Samsung Tri-Fold Launch Is Happening, But Not How You’d Expect

We’re now getting a much clearer picture of Samsung’s tri-fold device, which, according to rumors, might launch as the Galaxy G Fold. Quite literally, we’ve seen the very first official glimpse of how it looks. Since then, the reports have kept coming. However, a new report may bring some disappointing news for US and global buyers awaiting the launch of Samsung’s tri-fold.
Here’s when Samsung’s tri-fold launch, pricing, and the specs
Korean outlet The Bell has revealed new specs and details about Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold device, including information on its availability. According to the report, Samsung plans to begin production in September, with a possible launch in Q4 2025.
While there are rumors that Samsung might showcase the tri-fold at Unpacked, it will likely be more of a teaser than a full launch. This would be similar to how the Galaxy S25 Edge was briefly shown in January and then officially unveiled in May.

As for the specs, the outlet reports that the tri-fold’s inner display will measure 10 inches diagonally. The camera setup is expected to be similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which may include a 200MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 10MP selfie camera. That sounds more than sufficient for any foldable, in my opinion.
Still, it’s best to take these details with a pinch of salt, as the full specifications haven’t been confirmed yet. The device is also expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, just like the Z Fold 7.
Now for the part you might not be thrilled about: availability. According to The Bell, Samsung’s tri-fold may see a limited launch in South Korea and China. In terms of pricing, it might cost around 4 million KRW (~$2,950). That’s certainly not cheap, although it’s in line with similar foldables. For comparison, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate launched at CNY 19,999, which comes to around $2,800.
