Samsung continues to make the kitchen experience smarter by bringing cutting-edge AI into home appliances. The company today announced several meaningful improvements to its vision-based AI functionality, leveraging Google Gemini and Google Cloud. In addition, the firm revealed that it will unveil its latest kitchen appliance lineup at CES 2026. These include the next generation of Bespoke AI refrigerator, over-the-range (OTR) microwave, and slide-in range.

Samsung improves its AI Vision for a truly personalized AI kitchen

Samsung’s new Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub will feature upgraded AI Vision technology. For the first time, the company has integrated Google Gemini directly into a refrigerator. The latest version can now recognize more food items than before. Earlier, the refrigerator could identify up to 37 types of fresh food and 50 types of pre-registered processed food directly on the device.

Furthermore, the new refrigerator can now automatically register the names of processed foods. It can detect user-labeled items, making it easy to add foods stored in personal containers to the food list. Samsung will showcase these improved AI Vision features and new use cases at the upcoming CES.

Samsung says that its new Bespoke AI Wine Cellar also uses Google Gemini-powered AI Vision. The appliances feature a camera (positioned at the top of the unit) to recognize the labels and track bottles. Thanks to the AI Wine Manager, users can look up wine information more conveniently while receiving pairing suggestions.

Samsung is also refreshing the design of its kitchen appliances. New French Door refrigerators, slide-in ranges, and OTR microwaves (Air-Fry OTR and DualVent OTR) will feature a matching stainless-look finish for a unified kitchen aesthetic. The company will allow visitors at its CES 2026 booth to see these new innovations.

“Samsung will reach a new level of innovation through this collaboration with Google Cloud and will utilize these ongoing initiatives to continue to deliver better consumer experiences in the upcoming year,” said Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D Team for Digital Appliances (DA) Business at Samsung Electronics.
