Samsung Testing New Exynos Chip Model S5E8865 for Galaxy A57

It has just been over two months since Samsung launched its mid-range Galaxy A56, and leaks have already started surfacing about its successor, the Galaxy A57. A fresh report recently revealed the chipset details of next year’s premium Galaxy A model. The phone will reportedly feature an unannounced Exynos chip, with model number S5E8865 and codename Terra.
Galaxy A57 is reportedly in the works with an improved Exynos chipset
In recent years, Samsung’s mid-range Exynos chips have improved greatly, both in terms of performance and efficiency. The Exynos 1580 chip inside the Galaxy A56 is proving to be a solid mid-range offering. So, the expectations are high for the next-generation Exynos chips coming with future Galaxy A devices.
According to a report from GalaxyClub, Samsung is currently testing its in-house processor for the upcoming Galaxy A57 smartphone. As mentioned above, the chipset will bear model number S5E8865 and codename Terra. It’s expected to be called the Exynos 1680, as the Galaxy A56 uses the Exynos 1580 and the A55 uses the Exynos 1480.
The report says the chip may feature a new GPU called XClipse 550. It should be based on the latest AMD technologies and bring substantial improvements in graphics performance. Unfortunately, the report did not reveal any other details, so we will have to wait for benchmarks to learn about its on-paper performance. Speaking of its launch, if Samsung follows its usual schedule, the Galaxy A57 could debut in March 2026, which is roughly 10 months away.
Meanwhile, if you are looking for a mid-range smartphone that offers great performance, camera, AI features, and battery, the current Galaxy A56 could be a solid choice. The Galaxy A26 is another top pick if you aren’t willing to spend more than $300. Both models will get six years of major software updates and security patches.
