As spotted by updates tracker KeepUPwithOneUI, Samsung is now internally testing the June 2025 security update build for the Galaxy S25 series. Thankfully, he has also shared the firmware version which appears S936BXXU3AYE1.

There’s not much known about the upcoming update yet. Except, KeepUPwithOneUI says that it could be a “major update”. If this turns out to be accurate, the update might include additional features or system improvements alongside the usual security fixes. This wouldn’t be unusual, as Samsung has occasionally bundled new features or UI tweaks with monthly patches, especially for its flagship devices.

The June 2025 update is expected to roll out sometime next month. Based on past patterns, it will likely begin arriving in the last week of June, starting with unlocked models and then expanding to carrier versions in stages.

Samsung has been consistent with its monthly update schedule for the Galaxy S25 series, which includes the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. The May 2025 patch focused primarily on security fixes, with no major changes or new features.

We’ll also see the Galaxy S25 Edge launch in less than a week. There’s a good chance it will ship with the May 2025 security update. That means the Galaxy S25 Edge’s first update will be the June 2025 security patch, which might explain why the tipster is calling it a major update. Either way, we’ll know more as we draw closer.
