Samsung Teases Galaxy S26 Camera Improvements Ahead of Unpacked

Samsung’s first Unpacked of 2026 is only a few weeks away. We’ve already gotten our first teaser for the AI Privacy Display, ushering in a new age of privacy. Now Samsung is dropping fresh teasers focused on cameras, asking, “What’s next?”
Nightography and Zoom get a boost on the Galaxy S26 series
We’ve recently got three teasers from Samsung spotlighting camera upgrades. Of course, the company doesn’t name any products, but there are enough clues pointing to the Galaxy S26 series. Most notably, the camera design shown in the teasers depicts the new bump on the upcoming flagships.
The first teaser, titled “Glow”, shows a before-and-after scenario. Before the Galaxy S26 Ultra steps in, the captured moment looks dark, murky, and unreadable. But the new phone produces stunningly bright, vibrant, and detailed footage.
Next up is “Groove”, following the same before-and-after concept. Similarly, the audio receives a dramatic boost. It could simply be the way the teaser is played out, but knowing how Galaxy AI already lets us erase and isolate audio. We might receive new Galaxy AI features that enhance the audio experience.
Samsung is no stranger to pushing camera zoom boundaries. After all, the Galaxy S20 Ultra proudly displayed “100x” right on the camera lens. What makes the third, “Closer” teaser truly intriguing is how it showcases a zoom level that is well beyond the standard 5x optical shot, and even surpasses a cropped 10x capture.
This strongly solidifies the leak we heard about, where the 5x sensor is receiving a meaningful upgrade. But will the Galaxy S26 Ultra be the only device in the lineup that gets an upgraded zoom sensor? We shall find out soon.
What’s worrying is the potential heavy implementation of AI, as we see stated at the end of each teaser: “AI Phone” and the challenge “Can your phone do that?”.We’ve reported on rumors of an AI-assisted algorithm. So is Samsung teasing meaningful hardware improvements, or are they hyping their powerful new AI algorithm? We don’t know yet.
What we’d really like to know is whether this new algorithm is genuinely enhanced by AI to push camera performance further, or if it’s injecting generated details into images and videos. Thankfully, the wait may not be much longer. The Galaxy S26 series could debut on February 25, so stay tuned.
