Samsung Talks About Good Lock Upgrade with DIY Home in One UI 7

by | Apr 9, 2025 | News, One UI, Samsung Apps

Samsung rolled out one of its most exciting Galaxy customization features to date with One UI 7. Alongside system-wide enhancements, Good Lock’s Home Up module received a game-changing update — and the company is officially highlighting it as a major moment for user personalization. Shortly after the One UI 7 rollout began, Samsung Newsroom published a detailed announcement showcasing the full scope of the Home Up revamp, with a spotlight on its standout new feature: DIY Home.

Home Up’s DIY Home lets you create custom home screen layouts

Breaking free from rigid grid systems, DIY Home allows users to take full control over their home screen layout. Apps, widgets, and folders can now be resized and repositioned with total freedom. Samsung even enables a fun way to hide apps beneath stickers. Want to launch your camera from a photo sticker of your pet? Just layer it over the app icon and adjust the transparency. When tapped, the sticker acts as a hidden shortcut. How cool is that?

By default, Galaxy home screens include a row of favorite apps at the bottom. With the updated Show Favorites toggle, users can now hide this row entirely for a cleaner, more open aesthetic. It’s a small tweak, but one that makes a big difference for those who prefer a minimalist setup.

Even the way you return to the home screen can now reflect your style. The new Home Gesture Animation setting allows you to change the animation when swiping back to home from an app. Choose from preset modes like Classic, Sweet, or go deeper with Advanced Tuning to adjust speed, feedback, and visual effects. It’s a subtle but satisfying layer of customization that makes navigation feel uniquely yours. Check out this guide for more.

Good Lock delivers unmatched smartphone personalization in One UI 7

With these new tools in One UI 7, Good Lock continues to push the boundaries of what Android customization can look like — and Home Up’s DIY Home is the clearest sign yet. It empowers users to turn their phone’s interface into a true extension of their personality. If you’re a Galaxy user who loves to tailor every detail of your device, the One UI 7 update for Good Lock is the update you’ve been waiting for.
